Central Garden & Pet sales fall

The American pet and garden product supplier Central Garden & Pet Company recorded sales of $494.1 mio for the third quarter of its financial year, a drop of 7 per cent from the comparable period in the previous year.

Net sales for the pet segment for the quarter were $237.8 mio, a decline of 12 per cent from the third quarter of 2012. The pet segment’s branded product sales for the quarter decreased $34.4 mio, or 15 per cent, to $194.5 mio, while sales of other manufacturers’ products were $43.3 mio, an increase of 2 per cent compared with the third quarter of 2012.
